Happy labor day in advance. Here's my present to you: Latest release of the ripping guides in zip format in the download section. If there's still layout problems with some pages contact me immediately.

My sincere apologies for all those who got a screwed up layout in the guides. I just found out that FrontPage sometime does really nasty stuff - using <p> tags and no <br clear="all"> when dealing with images resulting in a page that looks different on almost every pc. One new movie ripped.

Various little updates in the guides. Now the multiangle instructions are an option in the 2 main guides. New DivX release is out along with some other useful software. Also there's now a FlaskMpeg 0.58 & Avi Plugin 0.58 guide but keep in mind that the latest flask is still unsupported cos it introduced a lot of new bugs. I've also updated my list of successful rips.

Updated the VirtualDub guide with a little synching info. Also there's an instruction page for Avi Chop.

Lots of new tools in the download section. For instance: A new vstrip that includes the VobDec functions, so you can split and decrypt at the same time. Another fine tool: Decodevob 1.4 which can now demux multiangle movies.

Updated the list of movies I ripped. If I continue at that speed I'm out of movies in a couple of weeks <g>. AviChop 0.1b is out - nice little avi splitter and way easier to handle than VirtualDub.

Robshot's very good article on synching problems is available. My new mpeg2avi method is online, too but it's still a work in progress.

Vstrip 0.5 is out. I ran across some problems with my new method. Testing might take another couple days. Just a little hint: This new method is based on Inverse Telecine, so mpeg2avi will try to undo what the 3:2 pulldown has done to the video. As for Warner movies: Use Flask for older movies and follow the mpeg2avi description for multiangle movies for newer movies (basically all movies that were released after The Matrix, but I don't know if this only applies to those special edition ones - Matrix, WWW, Deep Blue Sea and 3 Kings worked fine anyways).

4/21VobDec 0.3 is out. Fixed some wrong links in the download section. Fixed the link to Freezy3k's DVD Source, another great DVD Rip site. I'm currently testing a new method for mpeg2avi. First results are really promising and if all goes well we'll have a perfect mpeg2avi solution for NTSC movies - no more synch problems, the audio has the exact same length as the video. Stay tuned.

Finally another big update. I've decided to split the rippack into two different packs: One includes FlaskMpeg and one includes mpeg2avi. The Guides are also available in zip format in the download section. You can now also download each tools separately so you don't have to get the whole pack each time a new soft is released. VobDec and the latest DivX release have been incorporated into the pack.

Even bigger news: There's a new tool out that is supposed to crack the encryption for movies like "The Bone Collector", "The Abyss" and all the others DeCSS and DODs choke upon. Get it in the download section. I've also put the latest Flask Preview there. Very soon I will make the guides available in zip format to download since they're quite big and you might not want to load all the pics every time you need some advice.

Big news: I've completely rewritten my site and I've htmlized the whole guide. There's also more software available in the download section. I've also updated the list of movies I've ripped.
