9/29 According to the official English TMPG homepage TMPG 12b should be released in .... suspense ... English! Yippie.
9/27 As you could have seen on the main page already DVD2AVI 2/26 is out.

I have updated the miniDVD guide slightly and created a DVD Wise guide. However... for reasons unknown DVD Wise always fails when I try to create the actual disc. I decided to publish the guide anyways and I hope that somebody out there will be able to verify wheter or not what I wrote actually works. I'll keep trying but so far I have been unable to get anything working in DVD Wise... masteringwise I mean. There's but one project in the miniDVD section now: DVDit. And if somebody comes up with a working subtitle method for miniDVD I'll gladly add it. I don't have any DVD subs creation tools...

9/25 Another nice for everybody except for Doom9 day... DVD2AVI 2/24 actually works now even on P3 & W2K and supports AC3 decoding so I had to update the guides.
9/23 Aargh.. I just finished a very unpleasant operation: updating the rippacks which usually results in having to do a lot of screenshots and replacing the old ones.
9/22 DVD2AVI 9/20 and DVD2AVI VFP 9/19 are out. Small speed changes in both and DVD2AVI now has better IDCT, MPEG4 output and displays a bit more info about the file it's decoding. Keep in mind: It can't decode AC3.. the PCM demux option means that it will demux a PCM soundtrack if there's any. AC3 decoding is still on the todo list.

Small changes in the miniDVD guide, reflecting recent findings by Robshot.

9/19 TMPEGEnc v12a English patch is out. That was fast again! Expect new rippacks and guide updated to reflect the latest version soon.
9/18 Software: DVD2AVI 9/19 and DVD2AVI VFP 9/15 are out. DVD2AVI adds better IDCT routines and most notably support for PCM soundtracks whereas the VFP plugin should be faster on P3s.

I've also updated the DVD2AVI guides to include info about how to handle AC3 tracks extracted by DVD2AVI and setting the right audio alignment.

9/16 Finally I have been able to do some serious work again. Check IVTC in TMPEGEnc which is the ultimate answer to screwed up encoding (the progressive/interlaced frames reported by FlaskMpeg).  I've also added a guide on DVD2AVI... a really neat tool for VCD/SVCD creation which saves quite some time encoding when you are using TMPEGEnc.

I've also updated my miniDVD guide. It now covers the full version of DVD Quick Builder.. which allows for multiple audio tracks and menus. Now if somebody would be so nice as to give me the $2000somewhat that DVD Wise costs which is the big brother of DVDQB I could make a guide about the ultimate miniDVD... or rather.. how to author a professional DVD. I have gotten a copy of DVDit and I'll look into it when I have some spare time. However I will not be able to cover all major DVD authoring software out there, so if you use another program than I you can help me make my miniDVD guides better by writing an article on how to use your favorite program and I'll gladly publish it on this page - of course you'd get all the credits for your work.

9/15 Latest TMPEGEnc patch is available so you won't have to download the whole exe file. Unfortunately there's still no patch for v12a. Any of you guys interested in doing something for all the TMPEGEnc users out there? Get restorator and start working. It's rather easy... you can compare with the old version.. most dialogs have not changed. The only problem is that it takes rather long till everything is done... and I don't have time for it.
9/12 Poor Ben Roudiak, on the day when he released the complete translation of TMPEGEnc b12 version 12a was released. I know exactly how you feel Ben, although when my translation was made obsolete it wasn't at least not immediately after it was released.. and my translation was crude at least.

I've added TMPEGEnc 12a and its VFP patch to the download section... but there's no English patch so far. Here's the changelog of the latest TMPEGEnc version. I've also added the latest bbMPEG 1.24b13. That version now uses .ini files instead of .par and a lot of muxing things were changed... you can read the official delphi forum for the exact changes... they're too technical for many of us.

And just to get a little rant of my chest: I understand that not everybody speaks English but I think we finally deserve an English TMPEGEnc right out of the box.... I think the majority of its users speak no Japanese. After all I'm doing this site in my 2nd foreign language because it serves much more people.

9/11 A new version of TMPEGEnc is out. Unfortunately no language patches and neither a translated changelog. I'll post it as soon as it's available. Does anybody feel like translating?
9/1 I've finished my miniDVD guide. Currently my DVD-ROM refuses to read any CD I burn but I think my burn settings should be the right one. Please report your own experiences.
